In many homes the Living Room is the most public of all the rooms. Guests, family and friends gather here to socialize, unwind and celebrate special occasions together. James’ design of these important spaces always starts with a cue from the home’s architecture. A fireplace is a welcome focal point for both the furniture plan and flow of conversation. James’ designs also ensure that these rooms will be livable by furnishing them with comfortable sofas and chairs that beckon one to sit back and relax.
Creating separate conversation groups in a larger living room is another design technique James employs to encourage people to interact and move from one conversational group to another. When guests come in and conversations get lively, James places chairs that can be moved and positioned where they are more comfortable for the guests.
