MID CENTURY MANHATTAN

This chic sitting room is located in a beautiful limestone private residence near the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I received this commission when the home was being completely renovated. Consequently, I was able to make several major changes. These included new floor-to-ceiling doors with access to a new rooftop terrace, a wood-burning fireplace, and new LED recessed lighting.

The relaxing ambiance in the room is created by a palate of several shades of soft celadon green with accents of pistachio and moss green. The fireplace wall is surrounded by mahogany built-in cabinetry. The Paley sofa by Michael Berman sets an elegant mid-century mood and is complimented by a dramatic Perry Burns oil painting. A Royer-inspired bronze cocktail table and benches by Carole Gratale complete the main sitting area. We selected a Sputnik chandelier by Swaroski as the perfect final touch for this quintessential New York interior.
